While the focus of PBIS continues to be on promoting positive behavior it is still necessary to have a school-wide discipline procedure. If one of our students does display inappropriate behavior, after giving the student the opportunity to correct the behavior, staff will then follow our discipline procedure. That procedure includes verbal warnings, behavior corrections, Think Sheets completed in another classroom, or other classroom procedures (i.e. pulling sticks or changing colors) and when necessary an office referral. It is expected throughout all of the steps in the discipline procedure that parents are kept informed of the student’s behavior.
