Discipline Procedure for CES
While the focus of PBIS continues to be on promoting positive behavior it is still necessary to have a school-wide discipline procedure. If one of our students does display inappropriate behavior, after giving the student the opportunity to correct the behavior, staff will then follow our discipline procedure. That procedure includes verbal warnings, behavior corrections, Think Sheets completed in another classroom, or other classroom procedures (i.e. pulling sticks or changing colors) and when necessary an office referral. It is expected throughout all of the steps in the discipline procedure that parents are kept informed of the student’s behavior. If you have any questions about our discipline procedure or the use of Think Sheets please feel free to ask your child’s teacher or one of the PBIS team members.
Below is the link to our school's discipline referral process. In the flow chart, you see the steps that staff members take to refer a child to the office. If you have any questions about our referral process please feel free to contact our principal, Stella Downs.
Think Sheets are a tool we use at school to help students reflect on their behavior and make changes to correct the behavior. Below is a link to some of the Think Sheets we are using at Comfort. If you have questions about Think Sheets, please talk to your child's teacher.
